WHO’S PAM MAY?

This is my first campaign running for any office. As I spoke to people about embarking on this journey, I’m sure everyone thought my ideas were naive and overly simplistic. For Seinfeld fans, you will understand me when I say my approach to campaigning will be, “I will do the opposite.” In daring to run an unconventional campaign, I find unique strength.

I have spent the majority of my life living in the 6th Congressional District of Missouri. Until I was in the 8th grade, my family lived in Tarkio, Missouri. My roots are in small town Missouri. I graduated from high school in Maryville, and I’m also a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University. My husband, David, and I have been married for 44 years, and have lived in various parts of the district, including Clay County, Platte County, and currently St. Joseph. These experiences have enriched my life with diverse and meaningful connections.

At this point, many politicians might tell you about offices they have held and describe a career with influence and power. My story is different. My work as a legal secretary doesn’t sound prestigious, but in my work and in my life I’m guided by values of conscientiousness, honesty, and trustworthiness. I have been retired for a few years and fill my days with volunteering, caring for family, and taking time to enjoy things I had to postpone while I was employed. As we meet across our district, I hope you will see my commitment to service and community.

I hope my vision resonates with you, and that we can join together in a journey towards change.
