Why I Am Running

  • It’s time for a change of representation in Missouri’s 6th Congressional District. The current Representative has been in office since 2001, almost a quarter of a century! As all farmers know, it’s important to rotate the crops. He does not demonstrate inclusive representation for all people in this district. He voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that brought millions of dollars for needed infrastructure projects into this district. His actions in Washington underscore a disconnect with the district’s needs and values.

  • It’s time to see more women seated at the political table. In the 6th District, we are represented in Washington D.C. by men. Each of them supports laws imposing their version of healthcare for women onto women. Voting for change is a crucial step towards inclusion that embraces the diversity and experiences of people across this district.

  • It’s time to change our political discourse, especially among those identifying as Christian. I’m a strong believer in the separation of church and state. In many churches across our land, the message of God has been twisted and distorted by its union with that of the state. The beacon of light pointing to God is dimmed by messages of fear, separation, violence, condemnation, and despair. Good people have lost their way, and they have placed their faith in the power of laws to change lives over the power of God to transform lives. It’s time for the state to reclaim the message of freedom for religion and freedom from religion. It’s time for people of faith to reclaim the message of God rooted in lovingkindness, justice, peace, inclusion and hope.

    I’m running for change!
